The Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl star has decided to go behind the camera

Ranveer Singh can’t ask for more. The dashing dude got a rock-solid start with his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat, and then sustained the overwhelming success with his second film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. Clearly, the young lad is on a roll. Barely two films old and already a star, Ranveer is now looking forward to his next projects Ram Leela and Lootera. But here’s an interesting news that reveals Ranveer’s mega ambition. The 27-year-old is aspiring to go behind the camera. “Hopefully, I will direct a film some day and I will pay tribute to some of my idols who have been actor-directors,” confessed Ranveer who was seen at the premiere of Talaash last night.

The good-looking actor was seen sporting a moustache and long hair. This new look is for his next filmRam Leela in which Ranveer will be seen playing the lead role opposite Deepika Padukone, after which he will seen with Sonakshi Sinha in Lootera. It seems we have to wait longer to see him don the director’s hat.

Shekhar Kapur and Yash Raj Films have joined hands to make Shekhar Kapur's ambitious project, PAANI.

                

Talking about this association, Shekhar Kapur said, "I have been preparing for this film for a long time, but always wanted an Indian partner that has the same passion for the film as I do and in Adi I have finally found that. It’s a huge production that demands futuristic sets and large action pieces. With Yash Raj Films, I have found a perfect home for PAANI".

The film is based in a future world where wars over water have broken out. Water is now owned by International Corporations who use thirst as a weapon of control. In one such future city, a young love story breaks all the rules and in the ensuing war, water flows back to its people. The film will have a strong Indian and Western star cast, headed by a young leading actor from India and a young leading actress from the west.

The film, Produced by Aditya Chopra and Directed by Shekhar Kapur, will be shot in India and overseas. Music is by A. R. Rahman. PAANI goes on floor mid-2013.

The truth can be told! It was not a Shah Rukh-Ajay contest. It was apparently not even a case of Yash Raj being a box-office bully. But the REAL reason for the ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan'-‘Son of Sardaar' war has its roots elsewhere!
Word has it that it all began with ‘Bol Bachchan', when Ajay requested Yash Raj Films for a portion of the song ‘Kajra Re' to use in the film. Buzz is that YRF asked for five lakhs to lend this to him! And this upset his wife Kajol considering she has worked in their films, and done cameos for YRF free of charge.

Apparently, Ajay agreed to pay the amount for the 90-second sequence of the song. But even as he was about to do so, YRF reportedly hiked the amount to 25lakhs! By now, Kajol was apparently furious and Ajay too was upset. A friend of Ajay says, "She was really upset but Ajay consoled her saying it was all part of the business."
Things only got worse when Kajol (heroine of one of YRF's biggest hits - ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge') was not invited to the premiere of ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan'! And yet the event was tom-tommed as sporting all the YRF heroines! This definitely upset Ajay who felt that Kajol had nothing to do with the box-office war of ‘JTHJ' and ‘SOS'. He firmly states, "Yes, Kajol was not seen at the premiere as she was not invited.”

Anushka Sharma made a confident debut in Bollywood.

Now we hear that she has started the groundwork to star in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Salman Khan in Kick.

Just recently we heard that Deepika Padukone was trying hard to make her way into Salman Khan’s onscreen life, but Anushka might bag this role because she has more dates to spare. Deepika has a number of big-name projects already to work on, while Anushka has only three films in her kitty. That will make it easy for her to concentrate on the Sallu movie, and director Sajid Nadiadwala – who is making his directorial debut with Kick – might appreciate it if his leading lady had plenty of time to spare for him.

For now, we don’t know who finally will romance the Dabangg dude in Kick, but watch this space for all the developments on this South remake.
